Business Intelligence Intern

Role:           Business Intelligence Intern 

Duration:   6 months, starting as of March 2019

Location:   Geneva, Switzerland

Role Presentation

Within a cross functional team (HR, Finance & IT) dedicated to enhance the overall Company efficiency, the candidate will be involved in the business analysis, design and development of a business intelligence and analytics tools in order to improve transparency and to better monitor the performance of the group-workforce.

The project activities will include:

  • Working closely with the HR-analytics team to define requirements and elaborate business rules to be implemented in the final BI solution
  • Designing and implementing the data warehouse using OLAP modeling, ETL jobs to extract data from various sources and feed datamart, building dashboards / reporting
  • Developing high-quality analytics for key stakeholders, such as Executive Management and Department Heads
  • The final aim of the project is to automate and improve the current KPI’s calculation logic by consolidating financial indicators from HR, Finance and Trading Systems within the same, integrated Data-warehouse, and leverage the capabilities of existing Data Analytics and BI solutions.

 

Learning and experience opportunities

This assignment will provide you:

  • A great exposure to the commodities trading market on both physical and paper trades
  • Profound understanding of the drivers of the remuneration mechanisms, and insights in the Company’s trading performance within a globally active trading house
  • Exposure to Energy Trading and Risk Management systems, SAP S4/HANA, Hana Database, Data-warehouses and Business Intelligence tool (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud)
  • Experience in project management of a cross-functional team (HR, IT and Finance)

 

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Science or Mathematics (preferably with a Computer Science orientated background);
  • Above average grades and valuable extra-curricular activities
  • Good knowledge of programming languages (e.g. VBA)
  • Communicative personality, discrete and at ease working with highly confidential information
  • Entrepreneurial behavior, creative and flexible, out-of-the-box thinker with good appetite for challenges
  • Excellent English skills are required
