Mercuria Donates Funds and Supplies for Local Houston Back to School Drive

29th August 2019

HOUSTON, TX – On August 15, 2019, Mercuria employees participated in DePelchin Children’s Center (DePelchin) and the Houston Independent School District’s (Houston ISD) Back to School Drive by raising more than a thousand dollars and collecting school supplies for schoolchildren in Houston.

Mercuria’s Houston office organized an officewide lunch, where employees could donate school supplies or make a charitable donation to Depelchin and Houston ISD’s Back to School Drive. In return, they could enter a friendly office Bingo game for an opportunity to win tickets to a Houston Astros baseball game.

“Mercuria was glad to participate and contribute to DePelchin and Houston ISD’s Back to School Initiative,” said Cody Moore, Head of Gas and Power Trading for Mercuria Energy in North America. “It is not only our responsibility to ensure that all our children have the proper tools to be successful in and outside of the classroom, but also demonstrate that we as an entire community, from local businesses to nonprofits, believe in the importance of their success. This is why Mercuria invests in youth organizations and causes around the world.”

Founded in 1982, the DePelchin Children’s Center is a leading children’s advocacy nonprofit organization. It is widely recognized for its work in providing vulnerable children and families across Texas with more opportunities and the tools to succeed.

Mercuria supports a number of social programs and charitable causes around the world. In particular, Mercuria has partnered with local and international organizations that are dedicated to building a better future for the world’s youth and future generations.
