The Asia Pacific region has played an important role within Mercuria since the very beginning and represents one of the cornerstones of our trading business and for future investments.
We have had a presence on the African continent for over a decade and are active across all parts of the value chain from upstream discovery and extraction through to product supply into numerous African markets. In addition, our Minerva Bunkering subsidiary has extensive logistics and supply operations across the region including ports in South Africa, Tanger-Med in Morocco and numerous ports in Egypt to supply vessels transiting the Suez canal.
In addition to our three key trading hubs, we have had a trading presence in the Middle East since 2009. This also enables us to better identify and manage investment opportunities and joint venture activities in the region, including Gulf Cooperation Council countries, west coast India, Pakistan, and east and west Africa. We also have physical supply and logistics operations in Saudi Arabia and UAE via Minerva Bunkering.
Our activities across the South America and Latin America regions range from Mexico and Panama in the north to Argentina in the south. We produce, store and supply hydrocarbons and other energy products across the region and Minerva Bunkering operates logistics assets in Argentina, Panama and the Caribbean to offer bunker supplies to the region. Our environmental products team also has a presence in the region, working on carbon removal projects and conservation programs, including across the Amazon rainforest.
